Largest Known Rasberry Grossular Garnet from Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico.
(Considering SERIOUS offers only)
More Information and pictures coming SOON
This piece is from the famous Mexican discovery in the 1990's. I purchased this directly from Benny Fenn at the Tucson show. He told me that this was the largest piece that came out intact.
In 2015, I reached out to His Son to discuss this piece. He told me that he didn't remember any larger so this is probably the largest. I have been looking for years to find any that come close in size and have not found any that come close. If anyone knows of a larger piece, Please contact me but at this time and with all my research I feel this is the largest know example. Today, They are rare on the market although they were common for a moment. Still, a piece of this size and quality has yet to be seen.
These Garnets are said to have formed on the Eastern slope of the mountain part of the Sierra de Cruces Range which overlooks Lake Jaco, Mexico.
